I love this idea, I know clubs from Porsche to Mini that do this. In fact it might be an honorable way to go. Maybe even Semi Annual on a regional level and everyone is always invited

Until we have 60+ cars tracking there isn't the feasability of the entire track to ourselves. Rethinking...........

Typically these events are roughly $300 each car. $300 X 20 is $6,000. We promise them $6,000 and SR20 members have so many days to pay in full. After that deadline, we open it up for other members on other forums ----- most of us belong to other forums. I personally belong to an infiniti forum, mustang forum, and corvette forum (SUV forums don't count in this example).
Does this make any sense at all???
COMMENTS? QUESTIONS? CONCERNS?
Yes but you are over-thinking it. The group we're running with at Road Atlanta has 3 run groups, capped at 50 each. If he sells all the spots, and at that price he most certainly will, he brings in $37k. Last I heard a Friday at Road Atlanta was close to $30k, so as long as he hits 40 cars per group he's set.
The importance to this for us is that it allows us to get in on a track we could never afford with our size group at a price point that we find palatable. The key is funding the right track day organization to run with. These guys will relate to our road course group. The organizers drive a couple of Miatas, a Honda and at least one has previously run in Spec Miata.
