People are bitching because the organizers failed to secure a road course for the second year in a row. Last year was understandable, but it seems that this year was due to lack of funding and questionable planning. No one expects a single forum member to come out of pocket, but I know that many people on here would step up and donate if asked.

I'm not sure why you're calling Joe out. 2013 was a great success by all measures. Joe even managed to get the drag day back on after it was rained out.

Get in touch w/Joe and secure your spot asap.

After what has transpired on the 2015 Convention thread, I do believe I will not be attending any further conventions unless competent people organize them. More internet thugs, half assed attempts, name calling and such seem to be prevalent on there. I'm really frustrated (and most of us should be) and it really isn't worth the time, effort, aggravation to deal with it IMO. Let others enjoy it....I tend to like the folks here in GA and FL.....and you too Kyle, even though technically you're a northern'er. But I like you and your pops.

For a guy complaining my about ethug's, you sure are ethug ing a lot. I don't get this hostility against one and another and now trying to separate the community even more by calling some northerners and southerners? Really? Was that even called for?

We have a lot of people that are willing to donate, but there are 10x the people that are not willing to front the upfront cost. You're very unaware if you think donations will cover the cost. I sure as hell don't expect the organizers to front the money at a chance of possibly not recovering it back. The reason 2012 Ohio Convention was such a great success was because it didn't require any upfront cost, especially for a dwindling community.

A lot you you guys only see what's written on this forum, but have not the slightest idea or clue of what goes behind the scenes, the calls, the pleas for help, etc... I get upset at all the armchair QBs that all they seem to to is bitch & complain.

and as far as the "thuggery" comment?...I can't even...

This parallels the old west coast vs. east coast aka Biggie vs. Tupac. Don't make time for ppl who try to seperate a community.

Not speaking for anyone, but I think manny meant that people that are complaining are the same ones that has no idea how to or will attempt to set up a convention.

This is Ralphy first attempt on trying to bring something different to the community, if that's a problem then the same ole every year is good enough for all.

I am well aware of how much time, effort and money goes in to organizing a successful track day. I also realize that it is not financially feasible for this group to rent a track outright. Perhaps it is time to re-think the way the conventions are planned if we are to continue with road course events.

Organizing a successful track day is not within the realm of organizing a successful 4-5 day convention.

Yes, it is. There's little difference between a multi-day track event and the SR20 convention.

man you guys forget why we have these conventions and this forum for me its the fact that we all share the same passion for these little shit boxes we all love and own convention is the time of year where we can get out and meet each other and share our joys in our cars and maybe we are forgetting that. if you have never attempted to set up or host a convention before you should just shut your mouth point blank don't bash the guy for trying because if no one tried we wouldn't know anything about conventions these things are hard to set up a lot of time and dedication goes into planning this thing aside from having to deal with this thing we all call life there is a lot of foot work and issues that must be dealt with that we will not understand its easy to attend a convention and criticize everything but do you really know what had to happen for this to happen?? nope not even the slightest clue so stop being negative the show must go on and if you don't come o well who cares I wont miss you ill be to busy being a grown ass kid!!

Okay so you claim a few people commented or made jokes about you. GET OVER IT ALREADY, Its been almost 2 fuckin years, stop crying about it everytime you post something convention related. No disrespect, but your coming across like a little bitch.
I was there at the 2013 drag day & all I remember was a few individuals making some innocent jokes about your slow Honda.
I'm guessing they didn't know who you were in the car because neither did I. Thought you was some random guy who showed up to race. Don't remember hearing anything overly offensive about you while in the stands. It's interesting you were able to hear all that bs talk from the staging lanes. Gotta have thicker skin when around group of car guys. I think if they knew who you were then it would of been a different story. Okay so you supposedly "man up" and had words with these gangsta thugs, leave it alone---> its done. Stop accusing our convention attendees as thugs and gangstas because its starting to come across sounding somewhat racist from my point of view. I don't remember ever seeing "thugs & gangstas" at the 9 conventions I've attended.

As a convention organizer that had nothing to do with 2013 other then brainstorming ideas via conference calls and donating $500 from funds left over from 2012, I formally apologies for this experience you endured and hope it doesn't stop you from attending future events. All I ask in return is to please stop being so negative. If you don't want to be a part of this convention for whatever reason's then that fine too, but with that kind of attitude I doubt you'll be missed

On another note:

It seems like a couple of folks from the South East Group are being quick to point fingers and blame the 2015 Organizer on what's wrong and whats not being done. Its kinda funny that 2014 West Coast Convention had a road course day and none of you showed up :???: You guys were all quiet until this no track day issue came about though I will admit a couple had good valid points.
With all this being said, some of us are trying to put the pieces together and figure out what needs to be done to get this road course day happening. I don't like making excuses but its hard for me to be as active as previous conventions because work is crazy and I'm in the middle of planning my wedding. Either way I will do my part to contribute to this convention, my question is, are you going to do the same?

Lets stop the bs and figure out a solution.
