I do know this. If you continue to use the same model, the issue isn't going to get solved. Anyone in the know, is well aware, money is needed upfront, months in advance, to do anything on a road course. That includes the piggyback method, as well. If you start with that fact and work your way back from that, it becomes clear we need a organization that can raise funds a head of time. To expect an organizer to front money is a recipe for failure. I see membership dues and fund raisers from the prior year, as a viable method to fund the deposit money needed for an event. As nice as the whole, "Give us your tired, your poor..." mantra was, it doesn't pay the bills. And yes, paying to be in a club may be a turnoff for some. The way I see it, though, is those folks aren't really that serious, anyways.

I'm really sorry that some people here are feeling frustrated. I think we all need to get passed it and solve the issue. After it's all said and done, we all still have a connection and something in common with SR cars. I think a real organization celebrating that connection, may be the solution to our long term issues.

Who's gonna have #1 on their membership card? Where should I send my membership dues?

My 2cents, for what it's worth.

I have to say this makes perfect sense. This way all money is generally up front, and there can be more willing involvement from outside parties with an established "auto club". I would have to say as a "noob", it is something I would be willing to get involved in, and it can also open the door for more new people to get involved as well as bring more popularity to the platform and may give the SR platform the kick in the ass that it needs to see itself last as long as the Datsun "L" series has or longer.

I think there should be a head count of guys wanting to road race to determine an approximate number of guys and girls that would actually pay for the track day wether it's your personal car or rental. That's what I've done out here for WCC. But there is also a lot of promoting going on to spread the word and becomes work. With social media word has spread out a ton which has made us successful. There is a lot of stress with having to deal with this. Based on our previous years we are expecting a minimum of 40 participants. Last year we had 34. my organization team all pitched in for the deposit to secure a track day. Let's keep this alive fellas.

There was a group like this called SERCA. It was started when these cars were still in production, and the community was bigger than it is now. I don't remember what the costs were, but it was not expensive, but we still had trouble getting people to join. There were club officers, news letters, events local, regional, and national. The biggest issue was "what am I getting for my money?".......

Yep, SERCA was what I was referring to. You hit the nail on the head with regard to the path to success. We would need to give people value for their membership dollars....just like the PCA and BMW clubs do. If we can figure what that recipe is and get an organization wrapped around that mission, with trusted leadership....

Hopefully there are others that see the vision here.

I agree with Mark, I tried to Join SERCA for a few years and never they were never accepting new members.

I think the starting an SR20 "club" could work. I think you could bring in multiple groups of SR20 powered vehicles than just Sentras. I seems the import scene is starting to split more these days between the younger and older guys. In my opinion I see the older crowd taking to this and joining, as long as its done right and there is a return on the membership. I know I am sick of joining 80 different facebook groups having to troll through crap. I would rather pay some dues and have a serious group of car owners than a bunch of kids on Facebook. When people have to pay dues for something they tend to take it more seriously.

Another reason why we are successful with WCC is because of the younger generations. Its the old farts that lose interest and if we weren't so welcoming the younger generations would go buy a Hondas or WRX,s. I'm one of those old farts and the younger generations make me feel young again. Shit we got Stevie, Greg's son over here tearing it up.
