I have a very good question.

Why is there a Matt Kempe award?

Please think about this before you answer.

What is the Matt Kemp Award all about?

When there is an award there is a meaning behind it or is this just an old carry over from the old establishment. Maybe there should be an award of a diffrent person.

So my questions again is

Who is Matt Kemp?
What did Matt Kemp do that was so special to be held up high to have his name on this award?

Hmmmmmmmmm.......

Do you truly NOT know? I am sure the story is on the old forum at the very least.

The award is to commemorate Matt Kempe who was a fellow SR20 enthusiast that died in a crash. Matt was in route to help Mike Kojima and others as part of the crew for the VERY FIRST Sport Compact Car Ultimate Street Car Challenge when the crash that took his life occurred. When Mike WON that event he dedicated the victory to Matt. Matt was a very fun loving and energetic that had a great spirit and never let anything bring him down. He was there to support others and his spirit was what people remembered him by.

The ORIGINAL award was the Matt Kempe spirit awar and was given to someone whom during the convention embodied a spirit that Matt might have displayed in the face of adversity or challenge. Thus the award lives on to remember this person and what they brought to the community.

Hope this helps share some insight. And now that you know I hope you can respect and appreciate why the award exists.

I don't particularly care for the way you worded your question or post, but I am giving you the benefit of the doubt and hope this answers helps to shed some light.
