My engine did not knock. Guys don't depend on just the brand of oil, find and additive to mix with your oil.

i thought most synthetics were not designed for additives

I've actually considered going back to a petrol base.

I've always used OEM filters and my spun bearing was my fault, not the oil's.

I've never spun a bearing luckily, just got my T28 on not long ago, I was looking through here so I know what NOT to use. After being a M1 diehard these past few years looks like I'll be changing. I freaked out too when I noticed my oil pressure at idle with M1 10w30 was below 20lbs! Unfortunately, I just changed my oil. Went slightly heavier M1, and added some Lucus Oil Stabilizer - it helped the oil pressure thing a bit, but could be better yet as I have noticed break-down already in just a couple thousand miles.

I'll be trying the Rotella Synth blend on my next oil change. Does anybody else here use the Lucus Oil Stabilizer regularly? Or would you recommend using it at all with the Rotella?

i used the lucas along with 20w50 during break in. i only use it in my truck now. it calms my valve/lifter chatter!

Yes I do, I have heard of oil filter media failing and causing oil starvation.

I agree anything is possible, but decidedly that is not the problem. What happened was oil thinning and starvation caused by either poor oil, or excessive sustained g's at the track.
