I have already read the data posted previously.Its not blind adherence to a brand name,its from my personal experiences.I did not state that M1 is any better or worse a product that anything posted in this thread.
I said that in short, I have logged over almost 300,000 miles in 8 years on three different cars,2 of which are SR20's,and I havent had a problem using 10W30 M1.
No more,no less...

You also have a lot more choices now than 10 years ago, look around. Also what is good for the KA24DE which does not have the same issues isn't as relevant. I have one, original owner, 130k, all my own miles.
I logged 165K+ mile,original owner second gen,125K of that on M1.I know there are many other choices to run,and thats good for those that want to switch.
