I have run Mobil 1 religously on all my cars previously and on my current two SR20's.I have over 125K on M1 on my previous Altima,95K+ on the B14 running M1,and 25K on my G20 running M1.I use 10w30 and have been for about 8 years...

Maybe cause I am not boosted and only running light mods on the B14,but M1 has worked for me...

Formulations change, that kind of blind adherence to brand is not the way to go. Unless you're getting your oil tested, you don't know. M1 has changed significantly over time. It has also become a "thin" 10W-30W with lower resistance to breakdown at high temps. You also have a lot more choices now than 10 years ago, look around. Also what is good for the KA24DE which does not have the same issues isn't as relevant. I have one, original owner, 130k, all my own miles.

Also prev poster may be thinking of Rotella in the white jug with label which is a formulation for use mostly with diesel trucks. The current automotive blend is usually is sold in one gallon blue jug now.

i saw the disel version and i saw the regular heavy duty version. the disel one cleary say for disel

mobile 1 5w30

I know they have a reg heavy duty SAE 30 weight. That one is good too, but the 15w40 is better. the Synth 5w40 is really good.

i run the automotive blend, blue jug rotella t synthetic 5w40

I have already read the data posted previously.Its not blind adherence to a brand name,its from my personal experiences.I did not state that M1 is any better or worse a product that anything posted in this thread.

I said that in short, I have logged over almost 300,000 miles in 8 years on three different cars,2 of which are SR20's,and I havent had a problem using 10W30 M1.

No more,no less...



I logged 165K+ mile,original owner second gen,125K of that on M1.I know there are many other choices to run,and thats good for those that want to switch.

M1 10w-30, rod knock was my fault (mis-shifted), spun a bearing shortly there after.
After about 115K miles, motor looked brand new inside.
