Man, I know how you feel. This was my first new car. I bought it back in Oct. 1992. I planned on keeping this engine around for a long time! It wasn't supposed to die this soon!

I developed that wonderful spun bearing sound as well, today though.

30 minutes/miles from the hotel, I'm exiting the NJ Turnpike and there are two 180 turns like an S, to get to the toll booth. Apparently the motor is devouring oil and I have no idea why, so when I took the right hand turn, the pickup didn't get any oil and the rest is history.

I limped it to Alex's house, and we're trailering it to the shop Saturday morning.

At least I can say I drove a 411whp car all the way to the convention and back! Now to find out if I just spun a bearing, or there's something worse...

Yeah it's a crappy time for street driven SR motors. I'm now dubbing that I95 corridor the SR20 Death Valley

Fortunately I had just picked up a 5 quart jug of Mobil 1 at Wally World there in Savannah, and went thru almost all of it between last night and today (WTF?!)

Rub it in! Hell if things are worse than I expect, I'm ditching the motor for something larger Likely just to be a bearing change though, if the crank checks out.

Damn ACL bearings too. RAWR.
