NY to SAVANNAH – I just did the drive
Incase you have some reservations about doing the drive keep reading....

Sorry for the crappy night time cell pic. The elapsed time says 13:08.

Two days ago I drove from Long Island, NY to Hilton Head, SC. It took me a total of 13 hours and 8 minutes. Savannah is another 20 minutes south from me. Yes, my car calculated “elapsed time” with is the total number of hours actually spent just *driving*. With (frequent) stops - because I had my wife with me, the actual time spent for the trip was more like 14.5 hours. If you are a road warrior like me who eats lunch and takes a piss while filling the tank at the same time you can make this trip in just about 13.5 hours from the NYC area – viewing speed limit signs as mere suggestions also helps to get you there even quicker.
See you at the convention!

Hell yeah!

I used to drive almost every weekend from Corpus Christi TX to El Paso TX (13.5 hour drive according to driving maps).

It got to the point that I could make it in 10 hours flat, due to knowing the roads really well

See everyone at the convention!

I've found that not to be the case. The time saved going faster just turns into an extra gas station fill-up (or two). I recommend keeping the drive lazy, comfortable and cheaper.
