The good thing about several of the new helmets is the ducting they have which prevents things like visors fogging up

Good post Ben!

Bump for @Storm88000 and this year's helmet discussion for Nelsen Ledges.

Dare I ask if mine would be allowed as a passenger...for the record, a friend made this for me and I had absolutely no input. And yes, he is still my friend!

Flame suit on.

I'm guessing that is a motorcycle helmet, and as such is not usually approved for use on track in an automobile. Probably need Rob @SE-Rican to get clarification from his contact at Nelson Ledges to be sure. It is really the track owners decision and not up to us. Last year at Atlanta Motorsports Park and in 2009 at Roebling Road, MA spec helmets were not approved.

A motorcylce helmet will not be approved. Snell approved helmets that are still current are a must.

Forgive my ignorance on this matter, but a current snell approved motorcycle helmet would be okay, correct? I don't know anyone who uses a DOT motorcycle helmet but not Snell on a bike, seems kind of silly.

I think better clarification is needed. It is possible to have a motorcycle helmet that is current and Snell approved.

In 2012 Nelson ledges allowed snell approved, current motorcycle helmets. In 2013 AMP did not allow motorcycle helmets regardless of current snell certification.
