I've got a room for the entire Convention timeframe, at the official Convention hotel. Two (2) queen sized beds. Only one of me.

Wifey is not...ahem...real interested in a "car forum" vacation, although she absolutely encouraged me to go. Which for her is a vacation of sorts. Not having to put up with my ass for the duration.

You sir, are most welcome to the other bed. The financial arrangements we can work out. Far as I'm concerned, if the finances are any issue whatsoever, you can have that extra bed for free. No problems.

I'll shoot you a PM.

Per pm's, THANX Shawn - small unmarked bills - - - :-)
SERBAN - in the vernacular of my (ancient) age, Far Out. VVL indeed. It IS gonna be a fine time.
All these favorite voices over the years finally to meet. Yowsers.

I'm sorry if the answer to this question is blatant. But I am confused a little by the $25 charge for attending? If we are racing and attending the picnic, then what is the $25 charge for?

Also, I have a buddy bringing his Integra, does he need to pay the $25 charge too, even though he is just racing and might be walking around with me at the picnic but won't really be participating? What if he goes home before the picnic, then does he have to pay the $25 still?

Thanks for clearing this up! I can't wait to meet as many people as possible down there, it will be a good b-day present for myself

Its for overhead. It really really is needed. The registration fee covers all the bazillion little nickle and dime costs that come up. Its everything from buying ID lanyards to tipping and buying lunch for the corner workers.

I really had no idea of how many "hidden" costs were involved in the planning of a convention before I took this project on.

Well, the picnic tickets are mainly to cover the costs of food, not an entry to the car show. Besides, hanging out with friends at the hotel, the track day, and the picnic really is "participating" in the convention.

Yes I agree. I mean if you are gonna attend you should contribute somehow. I mean this is not a profitable thing. It is more of a HOPE to break even so we can do it again next year.

Makes perfect sense guys, I completely understand, I really was just wanting to know if my buddy had to pay that also for the track day.

Thanks for the reply's!

Wow. Get to see Calum again too. Guys, this man is a really rather smart fellow - you wanna ecu that'll make your ve work, he's the guy. Speaking of ve's, is the king of the hill Miko coming, anybody know?? He's the man who made mine, step by step over the fone on top of the 7500 mile VE he found for me.
Man who calls himself happynole :-), sounds like you've figgered out what it's like to put a meet together. A1 monster (would have used the b- word in private); best kinda puzzle I've ever enjoyed doing because the result is so fun (no, I've not done THIS one). Hope you enjoy the same feeling when we're on the other side. NOW you have the expertise, and it's SO muchy easier the second time. ps, are you bringing this monster you've spent all these months on? Your kids coming, I hope?
