I have Axxis ultimate's up front on my ad22's and I am considering getting the same for my rears.

You guys really think we will be eating the pads out? I'm not trying to set any track records in braking distances here.

If you let them cool down when they start to get slick Ultimates are fine. I've used them for one track day before, expect to replace them in the not too distant future afterwords.

Very good thank you guys. I have had them on for over a year now so I hope they will last the event.

I have loved these pads since I have put them on, they grab excellent on the street. However once I used the pads to slow the vehicle from 120mph to 50mph as rapidly as I could and I most definitely noticed fade from that alone. I was not too happy with that (adf22's btw).

Can anyone give an idea how fast we will be getting up to on the straights (sr20ve).

Around 90-100mph give or take would be my guess.

Also for engine cooling I usally take off my front grill. You may not need to put every little helps.

The last turn onto the straight is a flat foot fourth and going into 5th somewhere around start finish, if you get a good exit.

Damn, well I guess I will just have to see how it goes. I am assuming that after that brake, I will have a small amount of cool down time? I will just play it by ear. The pads have wear indicators on them so I will know when and if they get to low.

Ok. I am putting in a brand new OEM sr20ve water pump, I have a dual core copper modine radiator and will be doing a flush with water wetter shortly. And I got the water temp gauge courtesy of VDO.

I am more worried abut brakes then anything else, primarily because I have never tracked and I don't want to have any problems because I didn't prepare. I might have to budget in some pads, but that would mean cutting other things that are important to me but not the track event.

Just did my homework, checked out the track schematic. The turns after the straight look very large. Should be allot of high speed sweepers eh?

How long is each track session? I will be a beginner so how long am I going to be on the track? I ask this because I know we have different classes.

The current issue of GRM magazine has a comparison of a Porsche 962 and a Spec Miata at Roebling. They used a TrackMate Data acquisition system. The Miata had one hard braking zone and two small ones. Only a couple of shifts up and down. Top speed was 112 mph. More notable was that the minimum speed never got below 65 mph. Average was about 85 (for 2 miles). Of course, the car was on DOT R tires and Brian Redman was the driver.

Very useful information, that is great to know! Thank you.

I am planning to probably grab a set of front pads from the junkyard off an nx, and bring those along. In case I hit the wear markers, I will be able to put something in if I have to.

Question, is it required we have a helmet with us? Or does the track have some and are they free or do you have to rent?
