Rule of thumb is no more than 10 year old certification. So look at the cert date. SA has fire retardant in it, where the M is just basic impact. Less chance of fire on a bike, just your head bouncing on the pavement.
most all tracks will want
Cotton clothes, no artificial fibers. Those tend to melt and just laminate you in a fire
Long sleeves and long pants.
Close toe shoes. Dont wear your birks to the track ok...be a man
Tech for your car.
Wheel bearings tight? no rocking back and forth apparent.
Battery secured down well?
No loose items in car. Take everything out. No floor mats, and if you can empty even the glove box. Dont want things flying arround. Empty trunk, dont have to remove spare most the time, but some will do it for performance of 10lbs
Lugs tight
Brake pads of decent thickness
windows rolled down, sunroof is your choice.
seat belts...you didnt take them out did ya?
and basic road worthyness of the car from a quick go over.
We will likely have 4 or 5 experienced racers doing tech I would have to say. You have to pass tech before you go out on track. Its not hard, just pop trunk and hood, open doors for a quick go around. Its usually the obvious things, not the little things.
Keep arms in the car at all time. Remember kindergarten on the bus? Same rules. Dont stick any body parts out the window. Dont poke the person in the seat beside you in the eye. And be nice. Wave to the corner workers on your cool down lap, they are standing around making sure you are safe, be nice to them. If its hot, offer the guy on pit out a water, he has been out there flagging for a while.
So its not rocket science. But gota be safe
