Thread: Do you have a shop or know someone that does?

So basically I went camping up to Oklahoma and while i was there my Montero overheated due to a upper rad hose that came off and f'd something up internally.

One guy came to look at it and said it need a new engine or to be rebuilt, and wants to charge me $1000 to $1500 to fix it including parts. Now, I realize that might be really cheap and all for that kind of job, but i just don't have that kind of money to throw on it.

So I was looking to barter services with a shop owner somewhere in the DFW. I'm a Web Developer for a local advertising agency and do websites/web applications/databases for a living everyday/all day.

If you are or know a shop owner that would want to exchange services let me know.

man im sorry to hear that.. have you tried calling some of the performance shops around to see if they are capable of helping you?

I've been posting in craigslist and such online and contacting some of the different shops with ads for barter or offering services.

This weekend I'm gonna make a list of the couple of shops in the DFW, call and see what we can work out. Hopefully I can find someone.

I was looking through their website and it looks like they already have a web admin for their stuff. PM me info if you think they'd be interested in someone local and direct face to face contact.

Too bad I didnt see this earlier, tow truck just came to my buddy's shop last night to scrap a montero. Motor was good. I doubt his shop will barter with you to get it fixed, but he can do it on the side. I'll see how cheap we can find a motor and let you know

Thanks man! Let me know. I'm keeping an eye out on ebay and CL too, but everyone wants 1000 plus for an old used 100k+ miles montero engine.
