Been there, done that! I have had 3 99 Z28 6 speeds and one 99 Trans Am 6 speed. That one ended up with heads/cam and bolt ons. I did them all on a budget and still spent a bunch of money. Still think they're a great performance bargain. I'd go turbo if I had to do it all over again and had money. Still love to find me a clean B13 SE-R.

LS6! And yeah that car may need to much work. But well see. Im finishing up this cam/spring install now. But im in no rush. The car been sitting long enough that it can wait a lil longer for the right cause. AKA a Daily driver

Redlinez- To be honest the LS motor is WAAAAY cheaper to work on then the SR20. For my cam swap im at about $1000 maybe

-$400 for a mild cam and a wild cam (Couldnt decide so I bought two)
-$130 LS7 lifters
-$20 4 Lifter trays
-$32 Set of OEM MLS Head gaskets
-$60 for a set of GM Red wires
-$20 for 8 NGK TR55
-$160 BINB PSI 1511 Behive springs
-$20 LS2 Chain
-$200 Power bond underdrive Balancer
-$30 ARP balancer bolt
-$80 Oil, Coolant, Powersteering Fluid
-$30 Front cover seal kit
-$10 oil pump oring
-$120 Harder Pushrods
-$60 Head bolts 2 sets
-$375 for dyno tune

Ok.....um never mind...thats damn near 2k all tog.

Should net me around 420whp and 380-400ft/lbs

We shall see how it works out. Id rather not drive the vette in Winter months if I can. Perfect Spot for a Turbo to take over is when it gets cold

For a daily driver, you can't really beat a 224/228 580 112+2 type cam. I had a 232/23x 620/580 and hated it. It was the Futral Racing special deal. I made good power 430/39x I think, ran 12.10's at 121 in a full weight stock suspension stock 7.5 rear with 4.10's on street tires. But it wasn't fun on the street.
Valve springs are pretty easy using the TDC method in your driveway. That's how I did it. Have fun!! I really recommend Mayhem Motorsports. Jeff and Jay are great guys. Tell em Mike St.Clair sent ya.
