We've decided on Progressive Direct for home owner's insurance for now. They up-sold us to way more coverage and almost no exclusions for a bit more a year. I believe we are paying $485 a year for insurance with them. If/when I go to a value-stated policy for the Sentra (with Allstate I think) then we'll re-evaluate who to go with.

Right now we seem to have all our ducks in a row. The seller surprisingly agreed to fix almost everything found on the inspection report so that's great. We just have to let our utilities know we're moving and show up for the closing.

So far, so good.

The closing is just two weeks away now.

Only 3 hours from Atlanta, maybe a spring bbq should be in the works?

We will certainly have to figure something out for a little get-together if everything works out.

I know I don't have pics of the inside yet, and while it's a bit small I promise I'm not hiding it on purpose. I'm actually thinking a video walk-through might be best to do before we move in, and then again maybe after to show what it's like inside and what we do with the rooms.

Katie's parents have given us a Christmas/housewarming present in the form of a new TV which is exciting. I'll have the run-down of that thing too soon.

We just have to finish packing and decide on a day to rent the U-Haul.

I'm excited for you! Home buying is fun! I can tell you one thing tho, one MAJOR downside to owning a home, yard work. Otherwise it's been great...home projects are tons of fun.

Yah I'm really going to make the most of owning a home. I feel like I've been waiting my entire life for my own home. My childhood home was awesome and I had (for the most part) an amazing childhood there. I can't wait to have one again.

I'm feeling yah Crim on the yard work. I'm not looking forward to mowing and raking and such, but that's a small price to pay for the other benefits I'm sure you would agree. =D

Ha the yard work is one of my favorite things about it. It's a totally different feeling when you OWN the yard you're working in. You can really take pride in what you're doing.

yeah when it's your yard you tend to enjoy mowing/fertilizing/weed killin/landscaping more..
