Hey Guys. I uploaded some pics of the engine I picked up. Its not the cleanest valve train I've ever seen but I think it'll be ok. It's not sludged up so that is a good sign. Just an idea of what comes from NAD. The one I passed up had almost no brown build up from looking through the oil fill hole.

Give em a call to be sure. For VE's the ebay vendors are probably going to be the cheapest option.

Oh ok, I know jei in norcross said 800 for a ve. And you can come pick it out. Free metro Atlanta shipping

Hmm 800 for a VE is not too bad. I know the cheapest one on ebay is at 623.99 right now. Shipping from Texas would probably put it close to the $800 mark.

Has anybody else done business with either of these companies? I'm toying with the idea of picking up an SR for my S13 and was just looking for a reputable area importer. The website for NAD doesn't give a whole lot of detail as far as what their motorsets come with, and I haven't found a website for JEI. I'll probably do some calling around next week, just looking to get a little more info before then. Thanks fellas.

When I was at NAD they did have a red top with trans on the ground in full view. If anything you can get a good look at the motors that are easy access. They didn't want to undo the stack of Sr20's so I could look at all of them.

I think these guys are making some decent cash on the other stuff. I saw a bin full of alternators, and who knows what they do with the auto trannies nobody takes.

Well fellas the motor I picked up from NAD is running well. No leaks, or knocking. Warm compression is 195 200 200 200 psi . This wasn't even the cleanest motor that was available. Anyhow no horrible surprises yet with my motor. So I'm satisfied with the $500 I gave NAD for it.

The Only thing that I did notice was some timing chain rattle. I didn't replace the tensioner so a tensioner replacement might solve that issue or maybe removing the timing chain guard.

Yeah my transaction was cool. I like the fact that they are local so I can check these motors out. I have no experience on trying to return things there, so I can't really comment on that. I'm hoping that it won't come to that though. It would suck to have to pull the motor out after putting it in.

Lot of us have done business with NAD auto and I never heard of any issues with them. I purchased 2 motors from there 2 or 3 years ago and they still running strong.
