94 SE-R for sale at Gwinnett Place Nissan, Georgia
Hey guys I checked out a Red 94 Se-R that is sitting on the lot at Gwinnett Place Nissan. This is exit 104 on I-85 for those not familiar with ATL. It's not perfect but Its decent for the guys looking for a b13. It's a trade in, very high miles 240,000.
Good:
-Paint is ok for the age. I'm thinking its been repainted at some point.
-Body is mostly dent free. There is white scrape mark on the left rear fender.
-Tires looke like they have another 15k miles left on them.
-Southern car, so rust free. I checked its vin number. It's only been titled in the south.
-Interior looks really good for its age. The previous owners must have armor all'd the interior on a regular basis.
A/C works
-Axles don't click and boots look in good shape.
-Alternator puts out correct charging voltage
-Has a full tank of gas.
-Factory cassette radio still works. I didn't check the cassette feature, but who uses cassettes anymore anyhow, lol.
-I listened for rodknock, but did not hear anything.
-Still has decent power for a car with 240,000 miles.
Bad:
-Starter is out. I had to push start it to get it to run.
-Has had frontal impact at some point, you can see repair work on the radiator support.
-Cracked windshield
-Sagging headliner
-Sunroof pulls in slow, I'm thinking it needs lube.
-Transmission feels like its going, it kinda feels like it wants to pop out of gears. It didn't make any noises maybe it needs new mounts, who knows.
-Idle is a bit rough. After first starting the idle didn't hold solid.
-Coolant Temp needle stays a little higher then I'm used to seeing in other b13's. It didn't overheat while I was testing it, but I still think that might be a concern. The fans do work I already checked that.
-Cracked passenger mirror.
-Clutch pedal feels real soft. Maybe a worn clutch cable.
-Missing dipstick. I had to use my own dipstick to go check the oil level.
-Was low on oil before I started it up, not sure how long it ran that way before being traded in (I filled it up before starting with some mobil 5000 I had on me).
-Just really old, who knows if anything is gonna f up.
I was trying to pick it up, but I offered $1100 out the door and it was a no go. Honestly I think 1100 was on the high side considering everything that is wrong with the car, and also it's so old it's a risky purchase. Maybe somebody else is willing to pay more or can do a better job of negotiating.
I'm not really looking to get this anymore as I decided to concentrate on resurrecting my 93 Shell. If I get called back by the dealer then yeah maybe I'll pick it up , but otherwise maybe somebody on here will want a crack at it.
It's all the way in the back of the lot. Doesn't seem like anybody cares about it , lol. Let me know if anybody ends up buying it.
