Karting in GA, brainstorming discussion
Hey this is a random thought. Now that Savannah is over, and I met a whole slew of ATL people, I've been thinking of some kind of racing-relevant meet.

Karting!

I could even talk my wife into coming by bribing her with a trip to Ikea.

It would even be a small fun group if it were a few MidTN people, the Joe family, Reese, Rodney, jerryeads, and ???...

What are the options? Are there good indoor kart tracks that anyones got actual experience? I need to work on my lines and left-foot braking!!

We had a bday party at Andretti's in Alpharetta about a year or so ago. It was a good time.

Andretti's looks pretty sweet though. It's like $20 a race..

If you sign up for andretti's mailing list and set your birthday some day between tomorrow and before you come down, they will mail you a nice coupon you can use They also generally mail you out some kind of coupon every month.

They used to do buy one get one free, but not sure they do that anymore

HI Crim!!! how ya doin' fella?
I'm not sure there's any other option down here but Andretti's - I've been there 2-3 times, you'll end up spending $60-70 or so for 3 heats (don't forget to include the "license" you have to buy). My take was that they didn't take very good care of their hardware - of the 9 runs I've done total, my guess is that I had a good running wheel aligned kart maybe 4 of those times. Else, brakes grabbed, brakes weak, front shook, engine was tired, etc. Sometimes they were minor annoyances, sometimes it made the kart virtually undrivable. Be that as it may, I'M GAME! Great fun, and some of those guys out there sometimes are FAST.
