im going to fool around with a buddys car soon with speed density, tho his car has some idle issues i havent been able to resolve an its still on maf

his issue is if you "get on it" then let off an put the clutch in it stalls its like clock work, however if you dont put the clutch in and you let the rpms drop till the fuel cut kicks off then put the clutch in it'll stay running.. same goes for if you rev it in neutral it'll stall when ya let off..

my car has non of these issues on maf or map lol i just get terrible mpg and some studdering when the afr is hunting while cruising

Not to spam this thread, but mine also has a horrible transition from off throttle to back on the gas, full vac is quite strong, no matter how carefully i put gas pedal back down it always comes on harsh. Could be something in TPS settings, or something in the fuel cut tables or some other parameter?

I was also having issues with it dropping revs when clutching in, it stalled 2 times in a 5 min drive.

Anything that has to do with transition from off throttle to back on throttle can be adjusted in the fuel cut over run settings.

You can try making your overrun fuel cut transition and overrun fuel cut off tables closer to your fuel cut ON tables so there isn't a gap between the ON/Transition/OFF tables.

You can also lower the fuel cut timers so the transition is shorter.

We are looking into adding an option to disable closed loop below a user specified RPM, which should help your update rate issues at idle. This is more noticeable on cars with larger injectors AND a higher SD or MAF factor in the injector tab. The other thing you can do is lower the proportional for the closed loop wideband setting to help limit any over-shoot/under-shoot.

The reason I still think you guys are lacking in the MPG department is because of the accel tables. I suggest turning OFF closed loop and try to hit all of your load points in the cruising table WITHOUT varying the throttle much, you could also set the base pulse tables to 0 in the accel TAB so it doesn't inject any fuel during accel conditions. Then slowly work the table back up until you get a clean rev and small variation when you depress the throttle.

Those tables are found here.

Be nice to have the option of making closed loop disable under a certain rpm or load?

I might change the scaling around idle to try keep the values from hunting so badly, the trace is going about 1/3 way accross the map and causes the fuel values to vary wildly.

Please email me both your TCD and Pref files, and a complete log (unfiltered TCL) that shows this issue. It might be a simple tune fix. In the mean time, I'm looking at adding a MIN O2 RPM setting.

Thanks,
Dave

Yup will try. Car has been in storage for a while, need to get it road legal and record a log, unless the internal memory has a log of the last run in it still.

might sound silly, call it another personal request if you will..

could you add a check box to the "Settings" by the tone for the upload confirm for a tone for the record button, so like, when you hit record it'll play one tone, then hit it again an it stops it'll play a similar tho slightly different tone?

would sure help so i dont have to look an make sure it says Recording

I could do something like that .. how about turning the text from BLACK to RED, only when recording as well.
