Thread: Major Forum Changes Ahead

Wife's birthday celebrations out of town last weekend and Hurricane Irma preparations this week have put a damper on progress. Will get back to normal soon and update again. Sorry everyone. Stay safe.

I know it's been a long time. Some haven't been able to access the forum for 8 months.
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. We are almost there.

I appreciate the humor. It's taken me quite a long time to figure out how to duplicate the post numbering system while maintaining good performance and efficiency. I took a break to do some house cleaning and it came to me (as often is the case with tough problems). I will have real progress to report soon once the damn FTP client decides to connect. I probably need to reboot. Things get a little silly in Win7 after months of up-time.

I'm not talking once - or even the 'myfilestore' with the half naked chicks which bug the crap out of me - I'm talking about the red screen, I literally had to click 'trust safe site' 4 times just to get into the forum once, it kept refreshing the darn red screen.

Stop.... Using.... Chrome.

Update

I figured out how to duplicate the old post numbering system (skipping deleted posts) without any real performance hit. So I've continued on to get the posts showing up, and the first step there is to get the user profile part on the left side where the avatar shows up to work properly. I think I've finished all that now, so I'll move on to the other parts of the posts.

Since it's been so long and everyone is getting antsy, here are a couple screenshots that represent months and months of work for you to look at.
Things should look very much like what you're used to. Things that will be a bit different are the main pagination style. I'm actually quite proud of it, and I think everyone will learn to like it.
