So, I'm actually a network engineer with 1&1, the hosting company of the site. I work at the datacenter and have walked by the server a few times
I was notified of this issue on Friday. It was only a problem with Verizon customers. All traces would come back fine from Verizon customers, but they'd have problems connecting with TCP/UDP.
I contacted Verizon and they couldn't find any issues. I also contacted one of our transit providers and they couldn't find any issues. Last night around 10pm CST when I noticed this issue still going on, I switched the transit provider we use to reach Verizon. I'm not sure if this solved it or if Verizon fixed something on their side.
Good to hear it's working again though...your tablet situation may have the answer. Wonder what was different there.
