Thread: The rules regarding classified ads in regional sections need reconciling. Please vote

Just to make it absolutely clear, this is not within the 10 pages of the discussion threads. This was never a rule. Obviously this rule is the desire of a moderator. I'm not saying its a bad rule, BenFenner went about it the wrong way. Please ensure which ever way you vote, you make an informed decision.

The system in place for the in place for the regional classified, or lack there of, was sufficient. This should have never been an issue to begin with. As you stated before, there were no complaint, just your own desire to see it abolished.

It was a rule, it just was an unwritten rule. Which is fucked, I know. And we will fix that (one way or the other). But pretending it was not a rule is silly.
I have done a little searching, but I wasn't able to find explicit mention of the rule either. That doesn't mean I won't one day find it, but right now my best guess is that this was a written rule on SR20Forum and when we moved over here in 2007 "it just went without saying" that the rule still applied. Again, not a good situation, but such is life.

Apples and oranges. The rules and policy of the other site are of their own concern. Quit with the baggage. There is no mention of the rules period. It was never a rule. It may have been implied via etiquette, but your attitude and methods of enforcing said "unwritten rule" is a joke. Mass locking and deleting threads with no warning is just unprofessional, Ben. As do I. It is a shame we lost the fancy search feature we had before. I really want to get it back.
Barring that, I realize we need to do something else to satisfy that niche.

I dont see the need for any changes everything is going smooth around here i thought

i dont really ever see anyone trying to sell in the regional sections.. not as much traffic in those sections so doesnt make sense to sell there in my opinion

How about all ads go in classified and they get linked into a regional section based on which state they choose when they fill out the FS template....

This is how it used to work, and I plan on fixing this feature. I don't know when it broke, but it was around 2 years ago.
