Search highlight color doesn't contrast enough.
How about highlighting the search words in another color than effing gray? It's a lot easier than reading through every single post trying to "decipher" where the dang grey words are.

@92_sEnAtRa I've made this post of yours a new thread since it deserves it's own topic.

I think most of us can agree it would be okay, or preferable even, to have the search terms highlighted better. I will change the highlight color to something better very soon unless others have good reason not to.

In the meantime, you could get familiar with your browser's built-in search feature (Ctrl + F) to find the highlighted words on the page.

I actually almost changed this a couple weeks ago, but it's really hard to find a color that works with our theme but is distinct from links and mentions. Maybe I can give the words a background color (I've seen that on other forums) or maybe make them bold... I'll figure out something that looks good, isn't confusing, and is still contrasting.

This is hilarious. I've done a few things, each more aggressive than the last, each which should have worked. None have worked.

I'm going to leave the settings changed for a bit and see if maybe it's a caching issue.

@92_sEnAtRa and everyone else, let me know if the search text highlighting is contrasting enough for you.

Here's a test link with highlighting too.

If we don't like the background color, or the text color, or want bold or something we can do it. I prefer something similar to what it is now though. A light background and distinct but not jarring text color. This also affects how the linkbacks look, so I need to keep that in mind.

It looks good enough for me! I like that it highlights the text and changes the font color, that's distinctive enough to differentiate form the dull grey that blended in before.

Thanks a lot!
