I actually chatted with Vadim about recreating the forum from a backup so we/us/someone could look into the issues it's having.... but he doesnt have that level of access.

Well that level of activity is highly subjective.

Being engaged with another person when talking about it is different.

Only visiting the threads you want to and ignore the rest of the forum is different.

Being an administrator, I would have wanted more administrating to go on but I am just a low-level peon.

I wont deny I haven't had nearly as much time to browse the forums. Part of it is being busy at work, another part of it is playing with another toy (Subaru). I hope to get more back into the groove once I start working on my p11.

Shoutbox refresh set to 60seconds. No idea why it got reduced to 2 seconds. Do you guys have a preference on display order (new chats on top or bottom?).

The IRC folks will prefer it the way it is. I would prefer it being newer posts on the top but I believe majority will favor the current style.

New posts on bottom for sure.

Thanks Vadim!

It seems you've changed the refresh delay, which means if I'm sitting there watching the chat, it only shows me new messages every 60 seconds.

That's why it was set to every 2 seconds. So it would behave like a normal chat.

And like I've said elsewhere. this has ALWAYS caused the chat to scroll to the bottom every 2 seconds for me. It is a bit annoying, but I deal with it by holding the scroll bar with the mouse at the top and never letting go. It still scrolls, but I can get back to where I was reading easily.

Anyway, I'm betting something got fixed in other user's browsers which finally have them behaving the same way. Or maybe something has broken. I don't know... But this 60-second thing is not a solution if you ask me. For a temporary fix I would put it somewhere around 5-20 seconds.

Figured there was an issue, just no one to test with. Changed it to be around 5 seconds.

Edit upon testing with a few members set it to be 3 seconds.
