Thread: Subscription issue

It looks like @Crim was able to fix the e-mail issue today. I've been talking with him on IM and all the tests are looking good now. As some of you may have noticed, a whole bunch of backlogged e-mails were sent out. Crim stopped a lot of them from going out because he didn't want people to get flooded with a bazillion old e-mails, but you still might have gotten some.

E-mails should be working again now. Most importantly, new member registration e-mails, forgotten password e-mails, subscription e-mails, and everything else should be fixed.


Let us know if you have any trouble with e-mails in the next couple days.

What was the issue?

The issue started back in early May when the forum was down for a couple days:


After the site came back up, the e-mails never really worked properly which tells me the [Linux server] e-mail service never came back online properly or was corrupted in the RAID failure. Here's what Crim had to say about it:

6:35:18 PM: the mailservice was fubar'd
6:35:21 PM: reinstalled it
6:35:28 PM: dunno why it was working
6:35:30 PM: then just quit

No emails for moi. Just resubscribed to everything, again.
