The rules for bumping in the classifieds are changing to more readily reflect the reality of what actually happens on the forum. They have changed to be more lenient than in the past.
Old rules:
- Bumping Rule: You are allowed one bump per day. Bumps that can be used more once per day are: "Item(s) sold" or "Prices lowered".
Do not reply to your own post saying:
"Replied to emails"
"Replied to PMs"
"Added pics"
or anything else that a viewer of the thread can figure out by looking at the thread. These are all blatant forms of bumping and the Bumping Rules apply.
-Additionally, no “free bumps” of any type will be tolerated. These are defined as bumps from people other than the seller which don’t have any real content or questions about the item.
-Commentary: do not trash someone's item because you don't like it or them and do not flame a person because you think they are asking too high a price. Use a Private Message. Your post will be deleted if you can’t post anything constructive. Simply do not post if you’re not interested in the item that’s being sold; if the price is too high for the market to support, the seller will find out soon enough. The classified section is also NOT your forum for airing grievances - we have a feedback section for that, so keep it there. MODS WILL BE COMING DOWN HARD ON THIS.
-If your thread has been updated, edit the title to say *updated*.
New rules:
- Bumping Rule: The original poster can reply to their thread for a pure "bump" if the thread hasn't seen any activity (from OP or otherwise) in a 24 hour period.
All other replies, questions, and banter is allowed for both the OP and others with two exceptions. See below.
Exception 1) Negative commentary: do not trash someone's item because you don't like it or them and do not flame a person because you think they are asking too high a price. Use a Private Message. Your post will be deleted if your post is, or could be construed by the OP as purely negative and not constructive. If the price is too high for the market to support, the seller will find out soon enough.
Exception 2) Grievances : The classified section is also NOT your forum for airing grievances - we have a feedback section for that, so keep it there.
In the past, replies such as "Great seller, great price, great product! GLWS!" from other members were not allowed. Same goes for replies from the OP such as "Replied to PMs". Now replies like that and others are fine.
