I've been enforcing minimum post count. Since those threads get flagged by our spam filter anyway.

In the light of our new member that tried to bypass the 50 post count limit. I'm thinking about a new way to keep our Classified safe.

What if we start forcing them to buy 1-3 items before they can sell anything. Once they have an iTrader rating of +1 or +2 or +3 then they can start listing things for sale.

They can also get positive feedback by selling the item locally to a forum member, as long as there is a thread and both leave iTrader feedback.

As I said earlier Vadim, I think it's an elegant solution to the problem at hand. I think an iTrader rating of 3+ being required to sell is a good measure to introduce. It won't be too hard to accomplish for legitimate, honest members and it will show us that the member can at least complete transactions without things going haywire.

Good idea.

The downside: How do you enforce that members leave feedback for eachother?

There's quite a few transactions that go on, and no iTrader feedback is left, sometimes for months on end. Now we have to fault the buyer/seller?

Members would need to enforce it on each other. I mean, if you had a positive transaction with someone, why WOULDN'T you want to tell others about it?

That's a valid concern Cliff, but we would hopefully weed out people that are too lazy to leave feedback because they probably haven't received any themselves

General rule with customers is, they only scream when they have an issue. Hence when I'm buying a product and look at reviews, for every negative review I assume there are 5 positive .
