That is how I would like to see For Sale threads done around here when the person is selling multiple items. That's how I'd do it.
Hell you could even apply the same logic to For Sale threads with only one item for sale. It would be a clear indicator that the item was sold, but still keep every bit of info there for people to read and research later.

But I know... Herding cats...

If the mods want all these things why not have a new thread page that would require this inforation, and put it in the thread?

That's the way Bimmerforums.com does it. Additional fields are required when creating the For Sale thread such as name, location, etc.

Not a bad idea...
Not sure how easy that is to implement though.

I wanted to mention something about this section:

-Required information:
1. Your real name
2. Your location (City, state is sufficient)
3. Whether you’re willing to ship or not
4. Contact info (email, AIM, whatever you prefer)
5. PRICE - I don't care if you want offers or if you're trying to start a bidding war. SET A PRICE. You can always put OBO after it.
6. Payment options (paypal, money order, whatever)

I didn't intend this to be a format - that is, I didn't necessarily mean that everyone must list this info at the top of their sale ad in this order. I only meant that this info MUST be included in the sale ad somewhere.

I didn't see it but I thought there was an old rule saying NOT to create multiple threads to sell your items even after those threads have dropped off the first page or two?

I ask again, which of these rules are we enforcing? I see a whole lot of them being broken right now. Should I be reporting them all?

or at least edit the title to say SOLD if the thread cant be closed.
ben has brought up some good questions. bump once a week is a fair rule.
and closing/locking sold threads is a good idea...the worst is when you are looking for an item to buy and you are searching and find it only to open the thread and its already sold(like on multipaged for sale threads....)

Lurking on this thread, love that shot.

I agree with tightening up on the Classifieds.

I like transactions to go professionally from each party. Most of these rules are to insure just that. It is not to create headaches for folks selling, it is to insure less headaches and a better place to buy and sell for folks that take it seriously.

If someone cannot "Follow the Protocol" that becomes established and enforced, then I probably did not want to do business with them in the first place.
