I actually really like the once a week idea. Way more lenient than the current rule but not 24 hours or 48 hours like most forums which is a bit often if you ask me.
You want to sell fast? Drop that price!

1. I like bumping once a week, or perhaps once every 3-4 days. Frankly I think once a day is excessive - this forum just doesn't move so fast that something drops off the first page in one day. That was the reasoning behind the 2-bump limit.

2. Regarding the 50 post minimum, that's probably unrealistic. 25 is probably more reasonable. At the time we were thinking (or at least I was) that a lot of folks would show up on a new forum just to sell things, and since we were trying to get the forum off to a good start the limit was set at 50. HOWEVER - Crim was going to investigate using the software to impose this limit, so we wouldn't have to police that particular part of the rules. I know this is possible because I'm a member of several forums running vBulletin, where you have to have X number of posts to receive certain privileges; it seems to have fallen by the wayside though.

3. The mandatory picture thing was an inspiration to try to cut down on scamming. There are a few forums I'm familiar with that actually require the seller to post pictures, and in the picture with the item must be a sign listing the seller's forum handle and the date, to prove they actually possess the item. My thought was that this was a bit extreme, but that requiring a picture might be a smaller step in that direction.

Those are my thoughts so far. I'm hoping some other Moderators will chime in here.

I really like the post a pic rule. Also not posting if you think the item is over prices or just don't like it is important to.

I for one don't think it's too bad to tell someone that they are wanting too much for their item, as long as it's in a polite manner. I personally try to research a reasonable price, but a lot of times after an item gets sold people remove the first post and just say SOLD. Thus it's hard to get a good estimate. If I am wanting too much I want someone to put me down to earth hehe.

Now onto the next thing that is my pet peeve. I hate when people remove the whole post after selling the item. It's part of the forum, just like you don't delete your regular posts, it's not right to remove the FS post. Closing thread is perfectly fine though (Reporting your post and asking the mods to close it).

Yeah, I've been looking around to see how much some parts go for, but when I finally find a thread, the post only says sold. Or for example, want to know what a certain part looks like.

I too hate finding For Sale threads with the first post or the main info deleted especially the price. That's obnoxious.
There are much better ways to do that. (I will post an example in a bit.)
I know Crim would prefer people not even be able to edit their For Sale threads.

Cliff and I talked about this a couple weeks ago... That feature was turned off for users, so we can't close our own fs thread.

I sometimes will delete it because people don't read "sold" and bump my old threads since I can't lock them. Or they are just idiots and want to ask unrelated questions in a FS thread after the item is long gone.

Maybe that can be a trade off then. Crim would like us (mods) to close the threads. I agree with keeping the threads open incase the buyer has any issues with the product and doesn't want to leave negative feedback yet.

Personally I think issues with items should go through PM and then if not resolved be taken to a public forum (buyer/seller feedback) not as negative, but for conflict resolution/ attention/ opinions. I think iTrader is where the positive/negative goes after resolution.

I liked locking FS threads as they sell so you can have historical record of how it was. But that hasn't happened here in a long time unless the thread goes out of control.
