Thread: Suggesting name change for "For Sale" sections.

Unless you specifically go to the "For Sale" sections and look for stuff, many times you don't even realize you're in a "For Sale" thread because when the sections are listed on the right side of the screen (using the "New Posts" link) you only see the name of the subsection.

Many of the general sections and the for sale sections are very similar in name.

Here are the general sections with the similar for sale section next to it:

Turbo | Forced Induction
All Motor | Naturally Aspirated
Suspension | Suspension and Brakes
Audio and Electronics | Electronics



I suggest at least we rename the for sale sections to this:

For Sale - User Feedback
For Sale - Naturally Aspirated
For Sale - Forced Induction
For Sale - Suspension and Brakes
For Sale - Electronics
For Sale - Cosmetic Modifications
For Sale - 240/RWD Parts
For Sale - OEM Parts
For Sale - Wheels and Tires
For Sale - Cars
For Sale - Group Buys
For Sale - Miscellaneous
For Sale - Free
For Sale - Wanted
For Sale - Vendors


That way it's immediately clear you're going to enter the For Sale section of the forum when you enter a thread from the "New Posts" link.

Maybe "For Sale - Wanted" and "For Sale - Free" and "For Sale - User Feedback" is a little misleading. If that's the case, maybe rename the "For Sale" section to "Classifieds" or "Classified Ads" and then do this:

Classifieds - User Feedback
Classifieds - Naturally Aspirated
Classifieds - Forced Induction
Classifieds - Suspension and Brakes
Classifieds - Electronics
Classifieds - Cosmetic Modifications
Classifieds - 240/RWD Parts
Classifieds - OEM Parts
Classifieds - Wheels and Tires
Classifieds - Cars
Classifieds - Group Buys
Classifieds - Miscellaneous
Classifieds - Free
Classifieds - Wanted
Classifieds - Vendors

I like this idea a lot. The problem comes in w/ the mod we're using for SEO (vbSEO). I generates URLs based on the forum name, which is good. Until you change the name, then all of your previous links into that forum are now dead/404'd. But, since its the classified section, I don't see this being a huge issue. I'll play around with this soon and see if I can make it happen.

Hmm, a valid concern. I can see why maybe changing the name of the suspension section might be problematic.
(Maybe we could add a separate, new section instead?)

I'm actually trying to accomplish a few things with this.
(And holy crap I had no idea how many For Sale threads fly by in an hour. I usually ignore them.)

I say you make Ben the "For Sale" mod. He does have a lot of good ideas for that section...
