Thread: Spammers.

Found a spammer. joined posted 3 new threads about some crap and poestd some advertisements unrelated to thread and section thread is located. name is chui. dont know who to contact, just noticed this and i dont like this crap filling up the forum.

Hey Wes,

The best way to do it would be to report the post. When we go to delete them it will clean up all of their threads, so you only need to report one post from that person.

I officially reported that Chui dude and his weird-ass nonsense posts.

Now he and his threads have disappeared. "Poof"!

I figure it is my duty to report posts, as I am oftentimes the one being reported. It kind of "balances the scales" for my badness.

Novadose, see that little "Exclamation Point" box-thing in the lower left hand corner of every post? It says "Online" or "Offline" and just to the right of that is the box.

Click that "Exclamation Point Box" and you can report posts. I do it all the time.

NOTE:

Sometimes, spammers will register and fly under the radar for an extended period of time. After this "window", they'll start to post threads, and certain functions available to us moderators are no longer available. This requires us to do things differently, but it's still taken care of nonetheless.

This is why I prefer to look seriously into some member's join dates and their post counts, and cross reference by doing a quick google search. If I see jibberish on other forums that aren't managed well, posted from the same user, I tend to ban the user from our site before they're even given the chance to post unwanted crap.

Thanks Shawn for pointing that out. I was looking all over for a report post button and i didnt even think to check there. That is why I made this thread, haha.

Different guy. This guy was posting stuff that i had no idea what it was about. like a paragraph pertaining to something science related. Then under it were Two links one about a weight loss program and the other I forget.

that guy Jocking the B16's was just a tool who didnt know what cars the sr20 came in. haha
