Nope no lawsuit. We don't even have that rule in place. No one, on my watch, will be prosecuted for non-existent rules. How the rules are enforced is based on the moderator's discretion. If you feel like you received an infraction or a notice about a non-existent rule, please contact me immediately.

What if you've been banned? Hard to let anyone know...

You don't have AIM, Yahoo, MSN, whatever? Don't have e-mail? I'm sure you have a few moderators on speed dial...

Secondly, I handed out the infraction, since you decided to out it here.

The ONLY reason why "Insulted other members" was selected, was you have FOUR options for dealing with infractions, and it fit more closely than the other options...

So, with that being said, it wasn't because you insulted someone. It's because your grammar nazi-ism was out of control at the time...

Ben's thread bump brought the thread to my attention

Cliff, I was not aware that you're only given four (poorly worded) choices for the "reason" for an infraction. You can't blame me for the conclusion I came to though, can you? No other reason was given.

When I break a rule, you can jump as far down my throat as you feel appropriate and I won't say a peep. Ask Matt how it's done. Until then, I expect the same amount of respect and freedom to post within the rules just like everyone else, including grammar Nazi-ism if that's on the table. If you feel that punishing people outside of the rule set is productive, there's a talk we might-should have so we can get on the same page.

Regarding the "no politics" rule that went under panel review a year ago. Was there ever a decision made? It seems to me that politics are fine now, and the rules just never got updated?

There's also an extra bullet point with no content that could be cleaned up?
