i think it is but in reality the terms of service isnt putting as much of a restriction as the other site was, and i think that is why the other people were complaining about the company take over...you gotta have some form of terms of service tho, something that everyone agrees on.

LOL every single forum that runs vbulletin (and I'm sure most others) has a TOS you click agree to when you sign up. In fact when you signed up here (along with sr20forum) you clicked to agree to it. The only reason you saw the other page was I choose to notify all of the currently existing users that I changed the TOS, as opposed to blindly switching it on you.

DarkScience is my corporation, which owns multiple different websites including this one. I hope you can understand why I would have a corp own the forum ().

yes, most of the time you have to agree to the "rules" before registering, but I have never seen a ToS for a forum, especially in the format that this one is. A ToS is a legally binding contract and is quite different than just agreeing to some rules on a forum. I agree to ToS for using sites like Paypal or my bank's website, I have never seen a ToS for a web forum.

Show me one other forum on the internet that has a Terms of Service agreement.

Terms of Service = Terms of Use....just how ever you word it. Rules can also mean Terms of Service as well.

All have a ToS just how ever you look at it.

Agreeing to Rules are just as binding as agreeing to a ToS. The penalty of breaking such agreements have to be laid out in those statements as well.

Yes, I realize now that I was wrong in what I said. I have never been to a site that displayed them in such a way this one did.

I apologize and have learned something new.

thank you

Cool, Its really not a "bad" thing. All it really says is you are responsible for anything you post (duh) and you have the right to do whatever you want with what you post. I have the right to modify/remove/repost (moderate) your information on this site as I (well not just me, more-so the moderators) see fit.

Come on guys, it's just a "cover your ass" move, nobody here wants to see a certain major corporate forum buyer hit our new home with a lawsuit, or there to be any crap started in the future.

I was surprised, but glad to see it pop up today - it shows intelligence and thought to the future of the forum by setting things up properly from the beginning.

Good Job Crim!
