Thread: bellhousing hitting crossmember

i have a 98 nissan sentra that i am installing a aviner w11 motor in it as we speak but having touble with the bell housing hitting the crossmember and not to sure on what is causing it.if anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it terying to get to drive it a little before winter comes

You don't still have the NVH damper installed on that crossmember, do you?

I know some of (all of?) the AWD blocks need a bit of clearance on some of (all of?) the FWD crossmembers.
Search the forum and you'll probably find info about this from 2007-2008.

Well, you're saying it's the bellhousing... That shouldn't have anything to do with the AWD block.
Do you have any pics? Can you post pics of where it is hitting, and maybe how your engine/transmission mounts are?

Use spacers up on the front of the crossmember.. Also removing the dampner will help.

You always have to shave a little bit of material off the upper oil pan and also these crossmember bushings help restore proper crossmember location bringing back downward plus mor

This is correct i had to do the same to gain clearance for the engine not the hit the cross member.
you may have to space as much as an 1 inch to the front.
