N/A SR Fun (updated w/pics)
Hey,

I bought a '00 B15 SE 5spd w/PP to replace my auto Maxima daily driver and I forgot how fun the N/A SR20 is. It's been a long time since I've driven an N/A SR since I put the DET in my b14 over 5 years ago. I think a car like this is a lot more fun to drive on the streets because I can row through the gears whereas w/the DET, I'm going 90mph within a few seconds lol The fun doesn't last as long and gets unsafe on city streets way too fast.

Car is completely stock right now but will to add the SSAC header/downpipe and a flow stack + filter. That's it. Going to run 87 and keep timing @ 15*

I'm fighting the temptation to put a VE in this though :/

Anyways, thought I'd share my return to the N/A SR world.

Did you pick it up off KC Craigslist? White one, super clean with low miles?

Congrats on the new purchase! Although not the fastest, the B15 SE was a well sorted car. And the RR sr20 is nice, with a great torque band. Not as rev happy as the standard sr20 but it doesn't need to be. I miss my old B15 se alot. Great overall daily driver.

And yes, a VE in the b15 chasis is the way they should have come stock. Spec V's are OK for what they are, but a VE powered VE would be a GREAT daily.

Oh yeah, post some pics!

Nice pick up. Probably the cleanest I've seen show up on there. I bought the wrecked 99' SE that was on there a Few months back.

Car is nice but has some major issues. Oil pan had a hole in it which I already replaced. A/C doesn't work which I'm still diagnosing. Exhaust manifold has a huge leak, but I got an SSAC to go in there. Tints purpling and peeling so it needs replaced. Already replaced all 4 tires. Replaced rear speakers and in the process of turning the music up, blew the fronts lol so need new front components now. Sanded headlights. and on and on....

Ah the things pictures wont tell you. Assuming you bought it for the right price all of those are minor fixes. But when you start looking for UR racing pulleys or prothane inserts we have some laying around!

Ya got it for $2200. I thought it was a fair deal for all that was needed done to it. With only 106k miles, it should retain its resale value over time better than a high mileage one. In excellent condition the car's worth about $3k, so I figure I have $800 to play with.
