Thread: B14 SE-L auto tranny problem

So I searched a bunch and we don't have too much info on the B14 sr20 automatic trannies. My brother has an SE-L and just this morning he drove to work almost entirely in third gear. First and second are a no go. He says he accelerated on the highway from third and occassionally it would go into overdrive. Once he let off, it would go back into third. I don't know much about these specific trannies so all I told him was to check the fluid. Do these trannies have any other known issues? Computer perhaps?

Hey, I own an a/t SE-L myself.

I didn't have this specific issue, but there was a time where my overdrive would not kick in and everything felt very weak. Also felt like I was in a specific gear the whole time.

I also at the time thought it was my trannie. All I did was clean my MAF SENSOR and that cleared everything up! Doesn't hurt to try it!

As with your brothers specific trannie, how many miles are onthere?
