Tonight I got the title signed over from my stepson and paid him for the car. I also got the spindle loose from the strut, removed the strut, and got the axle free from the spindle. I already ordered and received a new LCA, sway bar link, and upper strut mount from Rock Auto, so this weekend I'll probably get further into getting it rolling again. The axle was twisted at some pretty acute angles in the CV joints, so I think the joints probably pulled apart. I'm going to pull off the boots and see if I can put it back together or if it's busted to hell. If it's busted, then obviously a new axle is in order... shame, because that WAS a fairly new axle. I also took a pair of scissors to the airbags to cut them out of the way. Even after this wreck (which is at least the second major wreck the car has been in), it's amazing how solid the darn thing is! the doors shut perfectly, the seats feel great, and the engine runs like a top!
