Thread: all electrical components stopped working

so i was taking off my heat shield and i forgot to disconnect the battery and the shield sparked on the alternator and since then all the electrical components stopped working. my windows and sunroof are open. the gauges dont work, dome light doesnt come on nor the radio, blinkers or wipers, i checked to see if the DLC works but tht doesnt work either, but the car comes on without a problem. my fuse box doesn't get any power. i am doing some reserch at the moment but i need to fix it ASAP. Does anyone know if there is a main power switch or relay that controls this that might have blown. thnx ahead of time. its a 98 200sx se

it's the main fuse. Hit the junkyard or call the dealer. Not sure if parts stores carry that paticular one. In g20's it's blue and in the box next to the battery.

do you know wht the fuseis labled?

it just say's battery on the fuse box cover on a G20 I'm pretty sure. Also it's screwed in so don't try and just yank it out.

because no one on here was giving any help at all and I have seen the exact same situation happen on a G20. Both being nissans it may be relevant to his car. He said ASAP so I was trying to assist.

Everyone is welcome... Im thinking its the grey 75 amp fuse in the engune bay next to battery on the motor side. Best bet... If it IS that... Good. Junk yard ftw. Look for more nissans with them and nab them.
