99 Nissan Sentra Se Limited
Hey guys,

I was wondering what modifications are worth while, time wise and money, for my 1999 Nissan Sentra SE Limited. I want to start making some engine mods, but any simple, cheap mods that have helped with this car in either handling (Sway bar for example) or Horse Power (Ie:Intake), then please list the how-to's or any other information about the modifications/ performance upgrades.

Car has 135k miles, still runs really solid. OEM Intake, NX2000 Front Brakes, Steel Brake lines, and Suspension upgrade.

Thanks much appreciated,

Daniel

Get your self a Cold Air Intake (CAI) or a Warm Air Intake with a flow stack:
BPI Flow stack (cheaper) with a maf adapter, or JWT Pop charger.

Also look into getting an SSAC style eBay header with a 2.5" secondary.

Cusco Front Strut bar and Bolt In Bars Rear Strut Bar (RSTB).

with all of that you should be having a nice daily.

id say..

6k HIDs in headlights and foglights (or 3k if you like the yellow look)
black housing headlights and corners.. w/ lucino grill

20% tint

headlight/taillight film from TearoffGuy (light smoke)

CAI, header, exhaust
good coilovers..or CSK's w/ GC sleeves

then call it a day..

Can't get a header which SUCKS! because none of them are CARB legal. Living in California is the best worst thing ever. Ahhaa I would get an exhaust but I like the way the stock piece is on my car. I have a intake from Overkill Engineering, that's about it.

I was wondering what you guys though of these parts? Do you think they will fit with my car? Megan Racing Short Shifters from HorsepowerFreaks and Megan Racing Aluminum Strut Tower Bars from HorsepowerFreaks

What do you want from your car? What do you use it for? Are you "new to cars", or just looking for quality parts? I try not to spend money on parts without already having a final game plan in mind, basically don't buy parts just to spend money, you'll never be happy with the result, at least not for long.

First off, tune up. Don't even think about "improving" your car until it runs as good/better than the first day it rolled out of the factory.

Well basically, I want to get those parts because I think it will help the car out. There is tremendous roll in the front when I turn because the car is a beast haha, it just can't seem to keep the tires down, so that's why I want the strut bar, and the shifter is because the stock shifter is HUGE! and I really want a nice clean looking shifter, for faster shifting.

What kind of performance mods are available in California?

The strut bar won't do anything to decrease body roll.

A strut bar works to prevent chassis flexing between the two strut towers, not prevent body roll. An anti-roll bar (AKA anti-sway bar, or just sway bar) would be what you're looking for, I believe.

In your first post you said you already have some suspension upgrades, what's been done already?
