The information varies, just because that happened to you it does not mean its like that for everyone. I had the Hotshot CAI in my G20, it was amazing, same with the AEM CAI (B15 one) they both worked great. There is no way I only gained 1WHP from it over the stock box, it made such a big difference with the cams. But then thats just my story.

I agree about getting the 2.5" SSAC header, might as well, it wont hurt

well in my case, the aem with cams hurt my numbers, follow my link for the dyno sheets. also mike kojima stated the same thing in a article he wrote a few years ago.

Ok, so by "custom", you mean VRS cat back piping with another muffler, such as a magnaflow? I thought you meant something fabbed up/welded up at an exhaust shop. It could be an interesting option.

Feel free to post pics if you can

Yup thats what I meant, when I lived in Miami I went there with Andreas Miko and Serban about 3 years ago early in the morning and by lunchtime they were done. You can order it online though.

even though my rr sr20de isnt cammed, i can def tell a difference from aem to pr cai. the aem choked the car up top compared to the pr. this is a sotp comparison though. the pr is indeed a 3'' cai all the way. i even had to bend the hole where the air box once was, to make the pipe fit. the car is a lot louder as well with the pr too. but the aem seemed to like low end power more. or maybe its just my imagination. i dont know. but i can say that with the pr, the power is more even. no power serge when the secopndaries open up at about 4k ish.

Ok, I just went to their website. It's a definitely interesting option. These tubing kits just need to be ordered, welded up, have a muffler added, and you're done.

Get a good muffler with that, and you have a nice exhaust with a muffler as quiet as you want it (not the VRS thing they call a muffler), and you just saved 500$-600$ as opposed to ordering a Stromung.

Looks like this is more attainable now

Thank you for the info.

The intake argument will go on forever, a WAI intake is known to make more power on a dyno because of the hood open fan blowing in, etc. A CAI is "supposedly" better in the real world, on the road sucking in cold air. There are too many factors to test this, so who really knows.

What secondaries? The ones the sr20 doesn't have?
