This is one of the best mufflers for our cars IMO. Sounds great on a turbo car w/a test pipe, or NA with a resonator. Looks stockish due to the double wall tip design and has a full 3" core. I have been running one for about 3 yrs now. I also use one on my Z31 300ZX. (makes the V6 growel)

that is a very nice looking muffler however putting a 3 inch muffler on an NA with 2.5 pipes will not make things quiet in any way.

your best bet on noise levels would be to use the longest 5 inch res magnaflow makes (6inch round hangs down to far) and you could even try out a flow master 50 muffler.

i have been really interested in flow masters recently after hearing one on a mazda3, not even a HINT of rasp and very quiet and deep/throaty.

Could go with a Apexi WS2 http://www.2kracing.com/Product/111.html

or a skunk2 like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Skunk2-Universal-Muffler-3-Turbo_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a552Q7c39Q3a1Q7c66Q3a4Q7c65Q3a12QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14Q2el1318QQhashZitem280250993637QQitemZ280250993637

but skunk2 on a nissan?! Hey if its quality I dont care.

Can't say I agree on the Flowmasters. I've heard them on a VW and on a Civic and those cars both sounded like bumblebees on crack at full throttle. Tanabe makes a nice sounding exhaust. An old friend had a full Super Medallion system on his CRX and it sounded nice and throaty at throttle with no rasp. Another buddy of mine has the Stromung on his B15 Spec V and that sounds really great as well. Good luck finding a system for a B13 though. Personally I have a Magnaflow. Its a bit louder than I'd like it right now, but I'm fixing that with a resonator shortly.

I think the reason why is because a lot of them flow a lot better than stock and look a hell of alot better than a glasspack. They're relatively cheap and so when cost is an issue, it's a better way to go than buying a turbo style muffler. Not everyone can afford HKS, etc. Shoot, watch an Option or Hot Version video, almost every one of those big time Japanese performance tuned cars sports a "fart-can" style muffler on the end of their exhaust systems. Dunno, just my 2 cents. It just sounds like you're hating on people who have them because YOU don't like them.

i think the reason that the skunk2 muffler was brought up was because it seemed to fit the look the guy was going for and it's a name brand.

if you want quiet, don't get something straight through obviously.
