Squealing in neutral
With the car idline and the transmission in neutral with the clutch out there's a squealing noise coming from the engine bay. It never reappears when driving or in any gear or neutral with the clutch in. Possible thowout bearing? This clutch only has ~2000 miles on it.

My guess if not the tob it could be a worn popped clutch disc spring going out as well only way to really know it to get down and dirty and separation the tranny from engine, having a full clutch replacement ready could help (disc,pp,tob, cable if not stretched, nice and lubed all moving parts without leaving any signs of grease on disc and at leasr a 500-1000 miles break-in babying period to let everything set in right

Never heard a throw out bearing "squeal", more like a slight grind or "whirl", but I've never experienced any clutch or tob issues in any of my SR20's.

@100percentjake, can you narrow down exactly where this squealing is coming from? Usually it's going to be a belt or accessory that's causing a squeal, but if you can determine that it's actually coming from the transmission side, that's a whole different story. Listen from both above and below, you should be able to narrow it down.

Clutch disc worn out spring and worn out tob will make a noisy sound " nough to consider it a squeal" and be determined by the pressing of the clutch pedal will go away but when clutch pedal not engaged it will make that sounds , when mine had it i though i had rod knock but when i pressed the pedal the sound will go away, after i took out my tranny out i could tell my clutch disc spring was pretty much working its way out of the disc itself

Interesting. I realized last night the sound goes away after driving the car a little bit. Go back into neutral with the clutch pedal out, no noise. Definitely coming from the driver side of the engine bay.
