Is the B13 really as good as I remember it?
Hey guys/gals,

So I owned a 1991 SE-R back in the late nineties/early 2000's, a car that I loved. Having been out of the SR20 game for about 12 or so years, I have often wanted to get another one. Obviously they are getting hard to find. And I also have considered other potential cheaper toy cars (such as NA Miata's) as something I may want to get instead.

My question is was the B13 really as good as I remember? Or is it just a nostaligic feeling that would disappear quickly if I bought another one? Not sure if my owning several modified WRX/STi's in the past or even my current DD G37 has been a "negative" influence.

Maybe the best thing would be to drive one (not the easiest thing to do these days). But wanted to see if anyone here was in a similar situation to me or had gone on hiatus for many years and returned to a B13.

Appreciate any thoughts/comments.

Thanks.

I did the same thing. I got into them when I was only 18, drove them until 24. Sold them all. Left the scene for 4-5 years and just had regular SUV's etc until 2011. I had dreams all the time about my first black 91 SE-R, haunting. So I got another one. Now it depends on what your willing to spend as you get what you pay for, but if you get a nice average priced one, it is totally worth it. Just lots of fun.

Thanks for all the responses! It was kinda the answer I was expecting here (it is an SR20 forum after all haha).

Looks like I really need to find one near Chicago to confirm it. Would hate to buy one and drive it across the country only to find out that it isn't what I remember/want...

But here's a tip, don't go for the cheap one with rust that you find first. Youll end up selling it. I was so excited to get another one I bought the first one I looked at and ended up selling it a month later b/c it had too many issues. Then I got more/better shape ones

Thanks for the advice. I am very picky about my cars, so would definitely take my time to find the right one. Unless you wanna sell me your nice '92?

I have toyed with selling at and getting the Nissan I've always wanted, a 1994ish 300ZX TT - but all I've looked at are beat to hell. And rusted. If you are serious about wanting to buy mine, I have 2 guys who made offers in the $5+k range but I have yet to decide, don't know if you'd want it b/c it's setup for racing really, not even power steering or carpeting.
