It is, but you've got to get it running right to remember correctly.

Meaning, you've got to fix all the major rattles. And you've got to make sure the steering, driveline and engine are all tight. As in new struts, tie rods, whatever it takes to feel like it's supposed to, not like its a neglected beater.

I know this well, because for the past week I've been. DDing a b13 for the first time in ages. And it's got 270k miles and needed just a wee bit of TLC. I've still got to do the inner tie rods and maybe replace the #2 rod bearing, But I can't wait to drive it hard!

I will never forget AMP when you came in with your brakes smoking and boiling the fluid spurting out your caliper.
I asked when the last time you flushed the fluid....you said..."HMMM Its been YEARS!!! we dont use brakes much in Rallycross so I have not done much with them...is that bad??" or something like that..LOL good memories.I had track brakes and they were getting worked pretty good...so yours were SCREAMING..HELP ME!!..haha LOL

LOL that was my rallycross car, in this thread I'm referring to my new DD, in my defense!!

The rallycross car gets used and abused, unfortunately. But I'm going to try to do more track events, so the first thing on that list is a brake overhaul. That was pretty funny.

The WRXs and G37s are great cars, but so is the B13. The thing is that it's great in a different way. I've driven a WRX and G37 and while they're great, they're not as tossible as a B13. Will they get better times on a roadcourse? Sure they will. But it's not always about the numbers. Older WRXs are decently tossible though. As far as I see it, the ony thing you'll have more fun in for the money, is a go-kart. Miatas are great too, but clean stock ones cost just as much as a VE B13. I don't know if the B13 will ever go up in price. And maybe that's why it's such a bang for buck car.

Yes, you are 100% correct that it is subjective and no one can answer for me. I guess was just wanting to see if anyone had been in a similar situation.

If It wasnt completely across the continent from me,I would be losing sleep at night.

Yes, I saw that one, really looks nice. One of the best I have seen in the last 6+ months. Definitely a loooong drive back to Chicago.

That is a great point, thanks for mentioning this. Something that I completely overlooked.

Thanks, I agree. I know the B13 stock is going to be slower in a straight line, but that is not the fun/point of the B13 in my mind. As you said, it was the tossibility and fun of the package, greater than the sum of its parts. The Miata thing comes up just because it is similar vintage and close in price, and there are a lot more of them around with available parts. B13 is the value leader here though for sure. Guess I also have some small concerns that it may become really hard to maintain the SE-R with the rarity factor...

If you are serious about wanting to buy mine, I have 2 guys who made offers in the $5+k range but I have yet to decide, don't know if you'd want it b/c it's setup for racing really, not even power steering or carpeting.

I love your car, but honestly am not really looking for a track oriented vehicle. So full interior, DE with bolt-ons is probably more what I want. Love the Z32 too, but the TT's are a pain to maintain.

I have all the interior, just none of it is in the car And yeah if you want a easier on the foot and wallet a DE would be a better bet. I suggest finding a B13 with a JDM DE transplant, they make a bit more power and usually have like 40-60k miles on them
