Thread: EGR line wrench size

I just picked up a B13 last week and I have one of those fancy smancy $130 ebay header setups to install. I already widened the flange holes so it would mount up with no issues. I was in the process of removing what I want to call the two EGR tubes. I tried using a crescent wrench to remove them but it wanted to stretch and possibly strip the bung(I soaked everything with PB blaster as well). I decided to use the right tool for the right job because the car has almost 200,000 miles and I know the tubes won't remove easy. I decided get a line wrench to remove the tubes. However, after searching on multiple car forums for a couple of hours I was only able to determine that the top egr tube is possibly 24mm and the bottom one I am not sure on.

I have used the search function and found no solid answer to my question. Can somebody tell me what sizes I need to remove the egr tubes/pipes/PITFA?

hey! i used vice grips for mine, and came of no problem! where are you located?
and im not even sure on the size, bc i dont have big enough wrenches! lol

Kyle is correct, but I just wanted to say how much I despise all the EGR stuff in these cars

I am located by Ogden, UT. I got impatient and tried the vice grip route with a good size cheater pipe to no avail. I ended up using a die grinder to cut the pipes. and remove the header. It was a PITA because somebody else had done this before snapped a stud and replaced most of the nuts with American sized nuts and bolts.
