A little update..

On the trailer before we left for Jamie's

In-between one of the pulls..

final numbers were 395 @18lbs. It's an absolute blast to drive. Just rolling into 3rd the tires break free and the car dances off the limiter

395@18lbs?? That timing Map must be very conservatively tuned huh?? Solid numbers though good job.

Keep in mind this is bottlenecked by a 2.5" downpipe. It also didn't have the dumptube on at the time which is hugeeee. Car can pick up another 50-60whp with minor changes. Turbo is still sleeping at 18psi. Once I get a hold of the boost controller we will see what 4th gear pulls do on 25psi.

not necessarily. marsh's dyno has a reputation for reading a little low. If it was about number's I would put the car on a set of dyna packs and make 460-470 with out touching anything. and as bes stated it's still on a 2.5 dp which is a big factor. I think with a 3" and a set of sr16's it should pick up another 40-50 hp.

Thanks for the props rob ! The problem Im having now is the backwash of the meth is getting the maf sensor wet and the car doesn't like that at all. I think an aem is gonna find its way on my door step soon...

I LOVE seeing that stock VE's make crazy power on a completely stock block with a little meth. Keeping the C/R high definitely plays to your advantage, with a good tune and meth I'm glad to see that's stable enough to throw 20+lbs of boost at it! This definitely inspires me for when I upgrade my stock w10 B13 setup! What are you using for engine management? Do you think the 4cw stock VE crank will ever be problematic? From what I've read, a stock DET crank would be much better suited for revving higher as it would stay balanced better. I know an 8cw crank may add a little weight but the advantage of having a better balanced crank over adding a little weight would probably be worth it, what are your thoughts?

You are my hero man! Thanks for linking me to this thread!

thanks again brotha.. Im not the best person to take advice from as far as the motor is concerned and i wouldn't want to steer you in the wrong direction. I cant say everyone on this forum, but there are alot of members that are very very knowledgeable on this topic and those are the people you should be talking to. Ive personally always been a strong believer in "building" a motor however, my last "built" sr blew just as bad as a bone stock motor. so after talking it over with marsh and a few other friends they pretty much convinced me to do a stock motor. there was a guy jp a few years back i think he made high 5's on a stock ve. the car is running a basic calum tuned off a realtime. the calum is not the best ecu for this car. it needs a standalone
