1994 Sentra XE VQ30
Hello everyone , id like to share with you my VQ30 Sentra i built last winter.
Started with a 1.6 automatic XE i got from Alberta (no salt), i live in Nova Scotia were we are plastered with salt.
Used the motor, tranny, engine harness from a 99 5 speed Maxima, b15 se-r spindles and hubs, b15 ser axles but had to use the driver side inner stub because of the LSD tranny. Used the shift linkage out of the maxima i had to shoten it a inch. b15 Hydro clutch pedal and M/C
Started by setting the motor and tranny in place and got the axles at a good angle, made all the mount brackets with plate, thank god for a mig and a plasma cutter. I used all of the stock maxima mounts and also used the polleyuthane mounts, used the stock crossmember and simpkly welded the front and rear mount to it.
Put a cheap ebay headers on it, y pipe cleared good.
Se-r rotor, pads and calipers, pretty big brakes.
Drilled my holes for the clutch pedal, pretty simple job done if a few times for previous cars, and gotta love the hydrulic clutch.
Shift linkage had to be cut a inch to fit.
I gotta junk yard protege rad that i riged in there till i find one that properly fits with the outlets at the proper spots.
Wiring was kinds straight forward, just the matter of finding all of your powers for the ecu and wiring them to ignition power with a relay. Oil press light works, temp gauge and speedo, got no tach yet .
Got it running in April and drove it till November were i put it in storage. Runs great , drives great and is a blast to drive. Daily drove it as well and never had any problems with it.
other things i have done, -KYB struts , Road Magnet springs - White line front, rear sway bar- whitline strut bar. Complete polyeuthane kit haven't g ot around to installing this yet - Short throw shifter - Fidenza flywheel -rear disc swap will be done this winter, have the spindles just need the brakes.
Here is some pictures of it, also am looking for a b13 manual steering rack with the coupler and mount if anyone is selling one let me know thanks.
Feel free to ask any questions. BTW ill be buying a 3.5 when tax time comes
