JDM Swap Q's
So I want to swap out the motor in my car, but I wanted to know what changes i would need to do to go from USDM to JDM. would I need a new harness and ecu? or does the USDM harness/ecu work with a JDM motor. I've been searching on here, maybe someone could point me in the right direction.

and another thing what tranny setup do you guys recommend for the B13 as an upgrade. or should i keep the same one and rebuild.?

Your stock harness and ecu will be fine; jdm engines don't have EGR, thats about the only difference.(You just wont have any sensors to plug the harness into)

Tranny upgrade, take your pick... (can't recommend a setup before knowing what kind of power you want or are looking to make)
B14 transmissions don't suffer from 5th gear popout
B15/P11 transmission are stronger than B13/14 boxes
B15/P11 tranny- why it's better than B13/B14 - SR20 Forum

Look through the manifesto, you'll find any relevant and pertinant information there-

Cool, thanks. yea I'm looking for a basic setup for daily driving... I'll look into a B14 tranny, my fifth gear doesn't pop out but it does grind going in.

Because theres nothing special to a same engine swap. Like I said, the only real difference is the manifold not having the EGR things. Everything else is plug-n-play.

thought you had to swap over sensors to the USDM ones especially if you are using the USDM harness and ecu. That was my understanding any way no experience...yet. By sensors I'm talking about coolant temp and oxygen and things like that. Could be wrong though wouldn't be the first time
