Thread: question for trany swap on g16

Ok I was really hoping I could figure this out on my own but the fact is I don't know enough about transmissions to piece it out. Eventually I would like to do an sr20 swap in my b13 g16. I'm going to have to wait at least a year or two before I can get things in order for it. In the meanwhile I believe the clutch is going out on my g16. So my question is, when I find out which trany I want, 5 or 6, and how much work it will be to convert to hydraulic, will I be able to make it work on the g16 for now and swap over to the sr20 when I'm ready. Best I can figure is that I will need to find a transmission that will fit inside the g16 bellhousing but where do I go from there? I can't bolt on a new clutch for the sr20 and rock it on the g16 can I? What about the flywheel? Thanks guys, bear with me I got time to figure it out.

too much work and no point for a ga16. just do another ga16 tranny swap if its bad, or just change the clutch itself only. save your money for the sr20 swap. if you don't have all the parts you'll get a headache like me. now the F**kin city of brooklyn park MN is riding on my A$$ about my car.
