Thread: Shifter Bushings

I recently picked up a 94' SE-R and I would like to take some of the slop out of the shifter linkages. Right now moving from centered to the left side (1st/2nd) has very little resistance while moving to the right (5th, reverse) feels like it should. What bushing(s) should be replaced to cure this?

Heres your best fix. Makes the car feel better than new,combined with a ES front stabilizer bushing .I have done this to every B13/NX I have ever owned.

Your shift return spring is broken. 100% positive. Go look for yourself. I get new ones from the local hardware store that are close and modify them to fit. You can see one in the picture of mine you posted above.

It is new spring time. I can get the part number if you'd like. I have extras I keep around.

The return spring sounds like the part I need. I have a few hardware stores close by, how long of a spring should I be looking for since mine has likely disintegrated? A part number would be cool too and I can just check the specs.

Yeah, I haven't had time to get under the car to work just wanted to know what to look for.

They take a little bit of modifying (they are a tad too long so I re-do one of the hooks) but they work great. You should be able to find them at your local hardware store.
